Living on Soul Food Part 1

Whether you’re physically overweight or not, Soul Food will transform your life.  No this is not another diet. You’ll find no magic number for caloric intake or suggested food portions here. Soul Food is daily manna for your spirit—the supernatural and empowering Word of God.

Grab hold of the solids enabling you to drop the weight of stress. Daily feed on the bread empowering you to lose the disabling weights of fear, insecurities, guilt, depression, and loneliness.  Grow hungry for the food that helps you let go of the past and forgive. These weighty responses to life could possibly be provocation of a weight problem, if you have one. They are often, also, precursors to troubling health issues and disease.

Straight from Heaven is this prescribed manna for life. And a consistent feeding will enable you to face today and all your tomorrows. Circumstances may temporarily distract you, but your thickening filters of supernatural peace, joy, trust, and faith will remind you that you are living under the security and shadow of an Almighty Abiding Presence.

Since the late 1800’s, astute doctors, researchers, and ascribed health practitioners have prescribed and marketed a myriad of diet-nutrition and exercise programs, to reverse the habit and consequences of over indulgent appetites. The monetary success of these programs has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry, which indicates a substantial volume of need.

No doubt about it—the care of our bodies is ultimately our responsibility.  To that end, I am a proponent of regular exercise and choosing to “eat to live”, a premise Dr. Joel Fuhrman elaborates on, in his book by that very title.  Nonetheless, the foods you digest are not the only nourishment you should be mindful of. Even more essential is what you feed your mind, your spirit—your soul.

Are you prepared to walk through this day? Will you be able to stand strong in the midst of unexpected trials, or whatever you may fear is ahead of you? Are daily stresses and demands evaporating your capacity to function sufficiently?

“Man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Deuteronomy 8:3 and Matthew 4:4—NKJV).

When you consistently nourish and transform your mind with God’s word, you fit into our heavenly Father’s plan. You will experience, through knowledge, the grace and righteousness of the holy, omnipresent and omniscient Almighty Trinity: God, the Father; Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior; and the Abiding Presence of the Holy Spirit. Talk about POWER–all you’ll ever need resides in this Divine Source of life.

Yearning for a more abundant life? The path is emphatically defined: “This Book of the Law (God’s Word) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8—NKJV).

And it is then that you’ll be able to rest in the supernatural Peace of God, despite your circumstances.  Then you’ll be able to discern and experience the shadow of His Grace reigning over your life.  It is then you’ll gain the privilege and benefit of receiving our heavenly Father’s divine counsel and direction, through the Holy Spirit.
